This course has been developed according to the national Common Core Standards (NCCS) in the English Language Arts area. The lectures will help students develop their reading comprehension skills through the use of reading strategies, phonological awareness, vocabulary words, essential sight words while describing story events in a sequential manner, responding to questions, analyzing stories, making connections , summarizing them and developing their own opinion. Ultimately it will give them the necessary tools to develop their critical thinking and writing skills.
